COVID PART 2

So, after so many big plans, 2020 has ended up being a year to forget in so many ways. After our barnstorming show in February before this all kicked off we had three more shows planned, but after postponing and postponing we’ve had to focus our minds on a fresh start in 2021.

In the time since, we’ve added a few killer bands to the collective, and we’ve been getting the word out online on the socials, making new connections and generally getting organised. Dan, who is new to the Civil War team (although he plays in Gramma Vedetta and Aliceissleeping) has been helping out as well and we are looking forward to working together more in 2021 as well.

We are now confirmed for 6 shows next year, including one ‘Uprising’ Weekender, which we are really excited about, as it has always been a goal to run a small festival like this, dedicated just to our bands. Here are the dates for next year:

Civil War 5 - Saturday 30 January

Civil War 6 - Saturday 27 March

Civil War 7 Saturday 29 May

Uprising Weekender 2021 - 17 & 18 July

Civil War 8 - Saturday 18 September

Civil War 9 - Saturday 27 November

We are not the biggest promoter out there, but we are gonna make these shows punch far above their weight. The Hope & Anchor is ideal for what we are doing with grass roots shows, as it packs out fast, has great sound & equipment, a downstairs bar in the room (so that people don’t have to leave the music to get a drink), and the overheads are modest. This means that the bands get the absolute most out of each night without handing over all the door money to the venue owners. While we hope we might be able to hit up some bigger venues in the not too distant, this is home for now, and we are really looking forward to it.

There is also a lot of other cool stuff in the pipeline, so be sure to keep following us on Instagram and Facebook for more announcements.

Maximum respect,

Dave K
