CWL III and Plans for 2020

So I’ve been a bit shit at keeping up with this, but our CWL III gig at the Constitution went off (almost) without a hitch last month! After tidying up all the broken glass and general detritus from the previous nights myself, and having wielded the pub hoover with determination, the wee venue looked ‘right’ in the end and the bands all brought their A-game. Late replacements Rough Stone opened the night with attitude and laid their claim for a slot higher up the bill. Aliceissleeping impressed with their killer riffs and amazing vocals, Empty Friend brought a powerful set, and headliner’s Black Monsoon destroyed it with their intense, building rock - on the last night of their European Tour. It was great fun and another really solid show.

Since then we’ve been busy making plans for next year, with CWL IV due for February (with previous headliners Desert Clouds returning to the bill, alongside Shockpowder, Imaginary Dreamers and Stoneflies (possibly one more on top). We also are planning our first birthday party with some drinks in January (and a rare opportunity for bands and fans to hang our together without music & gear as distractions. Having teamed up with our mates Superseed, we also have our very first ‘Civil War Bristol’ date booked in for February, which is massive news.

As of today we can also welcome aboard High/Low from Southend, alongside more recent additions Stoneflies and Orbital Junction, swelling our ranks a bit more as we head into 2020. I’ve got plans for an all-dayer soon, and maybe even a full weekend festival, so lots to plan for.

This first year has been pretty fucking awesome overall, and it’s starting to really work in the way that we had hoped all along. Much love to everyone who has pitched in with this project in 2019, and let’s see what the New Year will bring.

Peace,

Dave @ CWL
